Hooray for Hope!

I grabbed this from Ariane on Tribe and she in turn had posted...

"I grabbed this from Sara Y on FB... too good not to re-post!

Dear World:

The United States of America, your quality supplier of ideals of liberty
and democracy, would like to apologize for its 2001-2008 service outage.

The technical fault that led to this eight-year service interruption has
been located, and the parts responsible for it were replaced Tuesday
night, November 4. Early tests of the newly-installed equipment indicate
that it is functioning correctly, and we expect it to be fully
functional by mid-January.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the outage, and we look
forward to resuming full service -- and hopefully even to improving it
in years to come.

Thank you for your patience and understanding,

The United States of America "

I'm so freaking happy!

I love today!

This has been a great morning.

Had some yummy pomegranate for breakfast on my way to catch muni. Decided to get off on Van Ness and take a bus instead of city center then bart.
This awesome homeless guy wearing a cape and helmet with a flashing red light on it came dashing down the stairs to try and tell this chinese lady that the elevator wasnt working. She just screamed at him, "there no sign, there no sign!"
Up the escalator and had to jog to catch the bus. Waited for the blind guy to get of and it turned out the bus was empty! In all the time I lived here and the east bay and commuted I was never on an empty bus. Not once even as the second to last stop in the sunset.
At the next stop a chinese lady got on the bus. Her eyes got really big, she broke out into a huge smile, looked right at me and said "oh Lucky! Very lucky!"
I hopped off the bus and walked down to Atlas where I am now. Yeah free wireless!
I thought since my morning was going so well that it would be a good time to try my luck and order a cappuccino. I usually dont bother because im always disappointed. Sometimes it sucks to be so picky. So I order my semi-dry cappuccino with a splash of almond. I listen to the girl steam the milk. I can hear when they are doing it right and this sounded pretty good. I could here her tap the pitcher a couple of times to get it to settle. Then she sort of slammed it, walked over to the sink, dumped the whole thing and rinsed the pitcher. She opened a new carton of milk and started over!
What?!
Someone that cares about the quality of their coffee?! OMG!
When it was done it was like an orgasm in a cup!
Seriously... I havent had a cappuccino this good since that time we visited Otis and Elizabeth before they were married. We stayed up all night drinking, had breakfast at a good greasy spoon, hit the awesome cappuccino place and then went to bed.
kk
gotta leave for class now.
hope the rest of the day is as awesome!

Avoidance

Okay okay! I know I should be talking about how awesome Mira's Intensive is but instead I'm just going to tell my weird breakfast experience.

I went into this cafe' near the studio because I thought, "I've never been here before."
When I walked in all of the guys working there were immediately attentive and overly nice. Like in they way you would feel if you accidentally walked into a recruitment office.
I ordered a coffee. I paid $2.50 for a small "fair trade" variety which was all they had.
Then the guy asked me "How are you going to take action today?"
I'm not sure I know what that means. I felt like I was expected to recite some secret Hippy mantra.
I told him, "Well, I'm taking a workshop today?"
It took them almost five minutes to make my small black coffee and then I got the hell out of there.
When I opened up the coffee and took a sip I instantly recognized it for what it really was...
Nescafe.
I know Nescafe! I drank enough of it in China with Otis and Elizabeth and there is just know way to recreate that froth you get on the top after mixing in the powder. Plus that wateriness like you had an iced coffee and all the ice melted so you reheated it.
I think maybe I was being punished for not knowing the proper response to the "how are you going to take action today" question.
Strange people.
Strange world.

"The Fundamentalist Killing on Both Sides is Standing in the Path of Peace..."

Today I told a Vegan that her favorite candy has gelatin in it and watched the battle raging in her mind as it played out on her face.
In the end she didn't succumb to the temptation of the delicious candies but I think I did put her on the path to damnation.
hehe
If you are going to be an extremist you are going to have to make some sacrifices.

Completely unrelated to that, I also passed your average yellow "warning deer x-ing" sign except that this one said "warning suicidal deer."

Both made me smile.
