A Real Job
I knew this was the last year Bob Westgate was going to be teaching at Sonora High. I had good intentions to contact Bob and find out more about that possible job opening.
I finally found out about the application process on the day of the deadline. The day before Celtic Faire.
Physically there was no way I could possibly meet the deadline, so I tried not to think about how I'd screwed up a once in a lifetime opportunity by not taking initiative.
Then a friend from the bay area came up to stay with us. He had an interview. I was convinced I should apply regardless of having missed the deadline.
They wanted someone with more darkroom experience than he had.
I have that.
I started to get my shit together. That included recent letters of recommomendation, transcripts, a copy of my degree, resume, references, application and cover letter/ letter of introduction.
I contacted former employers and instuctors that I hadn't spoken to in years. They were all overjoyed to hear from me. It was amazing.
Everyone I know has been wonderfully encouraging and supportive.
The deadline was extended.
I have an interview on Wednesday.
I want this job.
I have walked on fire and broken a board with my bare hands.
I can do this.
Also, I'm nervous.

I wish you luck. If you can walk on fire, break boards, and dance like a mad woman, I believe you can rock that interview. Shoot, I really hope you get that job! I'll keep my focus on it!
Peace.
